一直沒有電腦掃描器，也不覺怎樣。倒是最近偶然看到一部多合一打印機，最吸引之處自是價錢，於是經過三番考慮之後，買下了。
名為打印機，自是以打印為主吧。我最覺有用的其實是影印功能，明知道「成本」較在店舖影印要高，要有，無比圖個方便。過往經驗，每因三幾張影印本而著急煩惱，現在找到這個「附加」功能，自是理想不過。
掃描當然也是吸引我的主因。將過去沖曬出來的相片掃描成電子檔保存，不是沒想過的。情知是「浩大工程」，旋想旋滅，可謂理所當然。既然有了這樣的裝置，也無妨試一試。就算不作此圖，也可作其他用途，將一些文件或書刊內容掃描存檔，未嘗不是好事。
差一點點才三百港元即可買到不少方便，有何不好。當然，兩小瓶噴墨，價錢比整部機還要高出近百元，可能只印出數百張紙印本，而隨機附送的，據說更少，自是日後「破財」的「大患」。多掃描，少列印，忍得住，自可海闊天空；況且我已有一部打印機，真要「大量」列印，也可「另謀他途」啊。
現在先要熟習一下新裝置的使用竅門，好好利用它，才是「急務」。

I have a multifunction printer at home too. Considering the running cost of an ink printer is quite high, I bought a low-budget MFP that has a colour laser printer unit (Samsung CLX 2160N). Yes, I also find the most practical function is the copier. Since then I never needed to run to copy shop for some important papers. In fact the scanner unit of my low-budget machine is not good at all. For copying, 600px resolution is okay, but not really sufficient for high-resolution document archiving. Your digital camera is much better regarding image quality and much faster when operating. I use my camera whenever I need a digital copy of my documents. Many consumer point-and-shoot cameras has a “text" mode, that is just for document archiving!

原來我們真有好些「共同點」。
不過，最大的分別是，我對電子用品近乎「無知」；連用的數碼相機都是「傻瓜」機，質素不高，所以有了掃描器，大可以替代數碼相機的部分「任務」。
電話手機的功能，現在已接近萬能，其他電腦產品，也只好「割價」了。我算是受益人，能不甜在心。
